Wrought Iron

Until the mid-19th century, wrought iron furnishings were manufactured by independent craftsmen. Soon after, numerous wrought iron and metal workshops began to mass-produce them in series. Older wrought iron is less susceptible to rust than today's products, and sandblasting or a fresh coat of paint often restores the beauty of the metal.
