Marble fireplaces

Objects from the reign of Louis XV and Louis XVI are characterised by stylistic elements such as centred clams or two rosettes, straight or rolling columns (either flush or channelled), and sometimes decoration with bronze ornaments. Whereas the style of Napoleon III is opulent, that of the era of Louis Philippe is much simpler. Wide top mirrors, usually with stucco frames, painted or gold plated, complete this style.
