Columns

Columns function as weight-bearing or decorative elements, both indoors and outdoors. It was in the gardens of ancient Rome that temples and columned porticos first appeared, influenced by Greek architecture. In the Renaissance period the charm of ruins was discovered and columns and rotunda found great favour all over Europe.

We provide Doric columns (characterised by their greater width and a flat upper slab), Ionic columns ('egg-and-dart' and spiral volutes) and Corinthian columns (volutes and acanthus designs), with or without flutes.
